About Power Yoga
Power Yoga is a general term used to describe a vigorous, fitness-based approach to Vinyasa (breath-synchronized ) Yoga. The term “Power Vinyasa Yoga” hit the yoga scene in the1990s, as a way to make Yoga more accessible to westerners. Power Yoga does not follow a set series of poses. Therefore, Power Yoga classes use a varying sequence of asanas to free both the mind and body with an emphasis on strength, flexibility & flow.
Baron Baptiste’s book, “Journey Into Power” has helped to bring this assessable style into the lives of American practitioners because of his straightforward approach to the yogic journey and is an excellent tool for anyone genuinely interested in exploring Power Vinyasa Yoga.
The foundations of Power Vinyasa Yoga allow the individual practitioner to modify or intensify postures as needed to create a healthy, balanced body.
